Meddius Signs Agreement to Deliver an Integration Platform for Premier’s SafetySurveillor™

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia (February 25, 2008) – Meddius, LLC, an emerging provider of integration appliances for healthcare organizations, will provide integration technology and professional services to assist with the deployment of Premier’s SafetySurveillor™ infection control system, which provides hospitals with a Web-based, automated approach to detect and alert staff of healthcare associated infections (HAIs). The announcement was made today at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference in Orlando.
Meddius will provide a comprehensive integration platform for Premier’s customers to integrate their clinical data into the SafetySurveillor system. A key component of the platform is Meddius’ Integration Router®. This integration appliance delivers message transformation, communication and routing functions within a single, rack-mountable network device. The core engine transforms between disparate message formats, including HL7, X12, EDI, XML and binary, and provides transport mediation.
